ARCFE Group 12 Investor and Child Receive Conditional Green Cards Ahead of College

By the time her child was preparing for college in the United States, Ms. S had already spent years thinking about what came next: university, internships, employment and the family's ability to remain together.
While her child attended high school in the United States, Ms. S traveled on a B-2 visitor visa to provide family support. In November 2022, she chose to pursue the post-2022 EB-5 program as the principal applicant, planning well ahead of the transition to college.
In July 2025, Ms. S and her child, investors in ARCFE Group 12, received approval of their adjustment-of-status applications and became conditional permanent residents. Their immigration planning had begun approximately 33 months earlier.
Planning for College While Still in High School

Ms. S's priority was her child's education and long-term prospects. As college approached, questions about future internships, work opportunities and family life in the United States became increasingly important.
She decided to begin the EB-5 process while her child was still in high school, with the aim of providing greater flexibility for the years ahead. The family continued with school and everyday life while their immigration petitions progressed.
Application Timeline: November 2022 to July 2025
Date | Milestone |
November 2, 2022 | Forms I-526E and I-485 filed concurrently |
May 29, 2025 | Form I-526E approved |
July 21, 2025 | Ms. S's Form I-485 approved; conditional permanent residence granted |
Her child also received conditional permanent residence in July 2025, shortly before entering college. The approvals marked an important step for the family at a significant transition in the child's education.
More Flexibility for Education and Career Opportunities
For families with children studying in the United States, immigration planning can become increasingly important as high school gives way to university and the early stages of a career.
International students on F-1 status may need to consider Optional Practical Training (OPT), employer-sponsored visa options and longer-term immigration pathways. Conditional permanent residents generally have greater flexibility to pursue study and work without relying on student-specific employment authorization or the H-1B selection process.
For Ms. S, conditional permanent residence also made it easier to plan how she would continue supporting her child and organizing family life in the United States.
The ARCFE Perspective: Aligning Immigration Planning With Family Milestones
For families with long-term U.S. plans, deciding when to start an immigration process, who should be the principal applicant and how an application may align with major education or career transitions can make a meaningful difference.
Ms. S's experience shows how early planning can help a family prepare for an important life milestone. ARCFE supports investors with information about project structure, financing and ongoing project management, alongside advice from their independent immigration counsel.
